ELGC - KatStyle Designs Studio opens Craft Center
Locals and visitors now have their own craft center in Florence. Veteran commercial designer and art teacher, Kat Cunningham, has transformed her professional studio, KatStyle Designs, into a space to learn assorted mixed media, with a no muss, no fuss, and just fun attitude. Over the years Kat has created “fool proof” methods to train anyone from teenagers to adults entering the vocational art field. She believes everyone has a creative spark that needs to be ignited. Kat believes the studio concept isn’t about needing to be a good artist, but the journey in what you learn about yourself when you take art from an inspirational view. Kat differs in her approach to teaching by using her six-sense method to research, design and theme a project. She specializes in nature as the subject matter to achieve a balancing experience for the student.
Kat says, “I wanted a place where people can come to de-stress, try something different, and just get away for a few hours. People feeling ill will be able to focus on something else. The space is wheel chair accessible. Teens can come to learn to develop a love for art while building a portfolio for college. Birthday parties and arty parties for clubs or groups are more memorable when art is involved. Expanding creativity is a way back to rediscovering lost passion”. Kat will be offering jewelry making, tile/ bisque ware painting, 3-D decoupage craft painting, fabric redesign projects, and basic drawing, design and working with color in nature. Outdoor junkets and art field trips will be scheduled as weather permits. Brochures can be found throughout the town or call ELGC- Essence Living Growth Center/ KatStyle Designs at 541.902.7912 for further information and directions. For the center calendar/ classes go to www.katstyledesigns.com. The ELGC Training & Craft Center opens Monday, March 1st. Open house to tour the facility is Saturday, March 6,10-4, and Sunday, March 7,12- 4.
